Flow Measurement & Building Pump Curve
Re-verify your hydraulic system profile. We measure actual flow and build system curves to optimize pump operation, save energy, and solve hidden bottlenecks.
"Running" Doesn't Mean "Efficient"
In many industrial plants, pump and piping systems often operate under the mindset of “as long as it runs.” However, over time, minor changes like pipe scaling, impeller wear, clogged filters, production mode shifts, or piping expansions can cause actual flow and head to deviate significantly from the design.
Common consequences include flow shortage at usage points, pump overload, increased power consumption, vibration/noise, cavitation, and unplanned downtime.
Re-building the Profile
Anh Minh’s service helps factories establish a “Technical Profile” based on field data: actual flow, pump duty point, and system curve. This provides the engineering basis for optimization and correct investment.
Non-Intrusive Ultrasonic Tech
Clamp-on Sensors
Measure directly on the pipe without cutting or stopping the system.
- No downtime: Install without interrupting operations.
- Non-invasive: No risk of leakage or contamination.
- Versatile: Cooling water, chilled water, raw water, process water.
- Flexible: Measure at difficult-to-access locations.
Why Measure Flow & Build Curves?
Pressure gauges alone cannot tell the full story. Flow measurement answers critical questions:
Design vs. Reality
Is the system running at design flow, or is it under/over-capacity?
Pump Efficiency
Is the pump operating at its Best Efficiency Point (BEP) or drifting into inefficient zones?
Bottleneck ID
Is flow shortage due to pipe friction (scaling, valves), pump degradation, or control settings?
Investment Decision
Should you replace the pump, trim the impeller, run in parallel, or upgrade piping?
Technical Deliverables
What Curves Do We Build?
1. Pump Performance Curve
The relationship between Flow (Q) vs. Head (H) and Power (P) under actual conditions.
- Detects: Impeller wear, incorrect impeller selection, wrong rotation direction.
- Identifies: Inefficient operation zones or control deviations.
2. System Curve (Pipe + Load)
Shows the “required head” of the system relative to flow rate (Static head + Friction losses).
- Detects: Abnormal pipe scaling/blockage causing high friction.
- Identifies: Excessive throttling (valve waste) or potential for VFD optimization.
Service Workflow
01
Survey & Plan
Collect piping diagrams, pump specs. Identify representative measurement points (suction/discharge, critical branches).
02
Measure Data
Measure flow at various modes (valve positions, speeds, 1 or 2 pumps). Record Pressure, Power, Speed simultaneously.
03
Build & Identify
Construct Pump/System curves. Pinpoint the current Duty Point and compare with the Optimal Zone.
04
Analyze & Recommend
Propose solutions: Operation tuning, VFD control, Impeller trimming, Pipe cleaning, or System upgrade.
Versatile Deployment
Underground Pits
Accessing low-level pump stations safely.
